How to Rewire your Brain for Success

When it comes to success you hear many people talk about the physical steps to take to acquire it. You know; invest in your brand, create a website, build a following, network and so on and so forth. However, you never really hear about the internal changes that must be made to be successful. This is very important because many of us, myself included, have taken drastic physical action toward our goals with minimal results. While we sometimes sit back and watch others barely lift a finger and success just seems to knock their door down. Why is that? It’s because they know the true key to success: to become successful internally first.

Many people may have their own definition of what success is. For some it may be accumulating a lot of money. For others it may be being of service, creating a profitable business, a weight loss goal, and for someone else it may mean finding the ideal relationship. These 4 full-proof steps will catapult you into success no matter what your definition of success is. These are the same methods I implemented as I pursued my personal road to success.

  • Ramp up your Self-awareness

Self-awareness is the first key in rewiring your brain. It is imperative to become super familiar with your thoughts and what you’re thinking majority of the time. Look at it as though you are building a relationship with your thoughts. You care about what you think and want to nurture your mind.

So here’s a quick and simple exercise. For 10 minutes a day spend some time alone just monitoring your thoughts. Just sit back and examine what type of thoughts run through your mind. By doing this you will become more aware of your thoughts at all times. This will allow you to guide your thoughts in the direction you would like them to go. You will become more mindful of what you are thinking.

  • Create new beliefs

Now that you are more aware of your thoughts, the next step is to create some new beliefs. From the moment we’re born beliefs are passed down to us from family, school and society. As an adult you have new desires and your previous beliefs may not benefit your desires. Make a list of your current beliefs surrounding your hopes and dreams.

By doing this you will be able to see the beliefs that have been blocking you from your success. You can counteract those beliefs by creating new ones that are more in alignment with your desires.

So, with using your new found awareness, once you see your thoughts flowing towards your old beliefs you can stop yourself and replace it with your new belief. For instance, if you have a current belief such as “making money is hard” you may want to create a new belief such as “There are many creative ways for me to make money effortlessly.”

  • Use your imagination

Many may think that imagination is something only used by children. However, this is an integral part for manifesting success. Here’s a real-life story. One day I was meditating and in that meditation, I envisioned receiving an email stating that my credit score increased. I felt the excitement of receiving such email.

A few hours later I received an email from Credit Karma saying “Good news! Your credit scored increased by 10 points, keep up the good work!” I was shocked myself. Not only for the fact that it happened but also that it happened so quickly. I had not paid one bill nor did I send out any letters to dispute anything on my credit report. This happened all by the power of my imagination and believing it would happen.

This is just one example, there are plenty other things that have been unfolding in my life by using my imagination. So, you are now more aware of your thoughts, you’ve created some new beliefs and next you’re going to add more momentum by using your imagination to envision yourself being, doing or having that thing that will bring you success.

  • Attitude of gratitude

We may hear this one often, but I’ve come to find that it truly is super powerful. You can’t receive more if you aren’t currently grateful for what you do have. All it takes is a shift in your perception. Shift your focus to the things that are working out for you, the good things that you have done so far, the accomplishments you have made and the fact that every moment you have the opportunity to change directions and create something new in your life.

When you find yourself about to complain or regret something, in that moment shift gears and think about something that you are grateful for. Even just a simple thought of “Well that went terribly wrong but I’m grateful it won’t always be like this” can work wonders.

Your brain is a pattern-based machine and it projects based off your pattern of thoughts. By thinking and imagining new thoughts and beliefs, this will create a new neuron pattern in your brain which will make your brain more naturally inclined to project those new patterns of thought instead of the old ones. How you feel and the actions you take will now be centered around your new projection of thoughts, which will attract better results.

Remember, repetition is key. Practice these steps every day for 30 days and I guarantee you’ll notice a shift in your circumstances. Not only that you’ll notice a shift within yourself. It’ll be as if you are a new being which is exactly what you need to be to align yourself with your true desires.
