Six Steps to Attain Self-Realization Right Now

In a previous blog post I shared the different levels of self-realization. This is a continuation of that post. Based on the last post, some people may be wondering how to actually achieve self-realization. No matter what level you’re on you can start the process of becoming more aware of yourself. This process also opens you up to the discovery of your true self – your Godself or Higher Self as many others call it.

So, let’s jump straight into it.

Self-Awareness

This is the first step to self-realizing. This alone is a very deep journey. You become your main object of study. This step also requires brutal honesty with yourself. It is a journey of deep introspection and will require you to be gentle with yourself because you may experience feelings and memories that you’ve been suppressing for a long time.

I will be the first to tell you that this process can be a bit scary as you may have to accept things about yourself that you’ve been unaware of.

Becoming self-aware reveals all known and unknown aspects of yourself. We’re usually pretty good with the known parts of us but the unknown are the parts that causes us to stumble in life. Unknown things such as habits, behavioral patterns, thought patterns, emotional states, perceptions, and beliefs.

Usually when it comes to our bad habits, we tend to justify it away. We convince ourselves that it comes from past experiences, childhood, astrological signs, and this gives us validation to continue being the same way.

By doing this we stunt our growth and remain unaware of how certain habits, beliefs, and behaviors stagnate our growth and keep us going in the same cycles of life. Next, we go into victim mode because we believe that Life is against us. We become resentful towards The Creator of Life and become bitter.

Then we walk through life with a chip on our shoulder all because we blamed everything on our circumstances and took no accountability. We did not want to take the time to really examine ourselves to see what energy we were projecting that caused us to have certain experiences.

As you can see this is why self-awareness is so important.

How to become more self-aware

Questioning yourself is the best strategy to utilize. You’ll need a notepad or something to jot down your findings. One way to do this is to pick a particular area of your life that isn’t going well for you.

Examine the issue by asking questions that is directly related to you. Whereas you are not placing fault or blame on anyone else. For instance, if you’re having financial problems your questions would sound like this:

  • Are there any unnecessary expenses I could get rid of to save more money?
  • How am I managing my money?
  • What are some things I can do to increase my income?

Then, you can go even deeper into your questioning to bring a greater awareness to your Inner Self:

  • What are my current thoughts and beliefs about money? I.e. Do I believe it’s hard to make and keep?
  • How do I feel about money? I.e. Do I feel it’s bad to want more money
  • How do I speak about money? I.e. Making constant statements about being broke

These questions help you dig into your psyche to see from an energetic standpoint what type of energy you’re emitting as it pertains to this issue. This is important because it helps bridge the gap between both worlds.

You get to see what changes need to be made externally and internally. This also builds your accountability because you’re are solely focused on YOU. You are no longer placing blame on outer circumstances for why your life isn’t changing.

Three Ways to Embody your God Consciousness

Meditation

Meditation provides you with the opportunity to calm your mind, receive downloads of information from The Creator and enhance your self-awareness. There are also studies shown that meditation can have physical health benefits as well.

This is highly beneficial because the condition of your mind is the premise for the quality of your life. You have the ability to tap into Universal Consciousness which is not bounded by time to receive information that can drastically change your perception, beliefs and personality if applied. And because it is not bounded by time you can receive information that’s way ahead of its time or from centuries ago.

Because the information you receive is coming from The Cosmos, or the Akashic Records as some call it, it is not always “Google-able”. Meaning the information is so advanced that many people may not be privy to it, thus you may be unable to find it through normal searching means.

You’ll know when you’ve received this type of information because it will feel like a light bulb moment. It literally feels like something deeper has awakened within you because it has, Higher Knowledge. Equipped with such newfound knowledge, your whole outlook on life changes. This should lead to new discoveries about yourself, changed behaviors, emotional and mental healing. You should also feel inclined to “put off your old self and put on your new self” after such awakening has occurred.

Subtle Inner Dialogue

Meditating also reaps the benefit of becoming more aware of your inner dialogue. Most people brains run ramped all day, jumping from one thought to another. No one ever really takes the time to examine the subtle inner dialogue that takes place in the background. These are the conversations you have in your head that you’re unaware of.

Another term for this is drifting. Drifting is where you just let your mind wander aimlessly without paying much attention to what you’re thinking about. Have you ever been in the middle of prayer and your mind suddenly drifts to thoughts about your job? Kids? Or what pissed you off earlier? That’s what drifting is.

And guess what, here’s an unpopular fact. Your inner self is the real you. Meaning those subtle inner dialogues reflect your true thoughts and feelings. So, let’s say you shake someone’s hand and say “nice to meet you” but then internally you think “this person is such a joke”.

That inner thought is how you really feel. And this is why some of us have the ability to notice “fake vibes” coming from certain people. So, if you don’t want to give off fake vibes, become more aware of your inner dialogue.

Meditation can assist in minimizing drifting and heighten your awareness to your inner conversations. Once you understand how powerful your thoughts are, you then can see why this is so important. Thought is a form of energy. It definitely does emit a frequency and plays a role in your creating your reality.

If you have no awareness of your inner dialogue, you’ll continue to radiate the same energy thus re-creating the same situations. By meditating, you’ll become aware of your inner conversations and gain the ability to stop them in their tracks. From here you can create a new thought pattern or ‘story’ that emits a higher frequency and is more aligned with your desired outcome.

Pay attention to your feelings

Emotional awareness is another major component to self-realization. Our emotions are an amplifier to our thoughts. This is why when we think certain thoughts, we begin to feel a certain way. And the more we think the thoughts the higher our emotions rise and vice versa.

Emotions are also a form of energy that works rhythmically with our thoughts. Have you ever heard someone shout “I’m not angry!” when clearly, they are. Or have you ever said “I don’t care” when deep down you know you do? When people do this, it causes disharmony is their energetic field. It also reflects a lack of self-awareness as they are not aware of the mismatch energy they’re giving off.

As with the mental exercise spoken about earlier in the article, you can apply the same method here. You have to get real with yourself about how you’re feeling. You must ask yourself why you are feeling this way. And as previously stated it should point back to you. It’s so easy to always place blame on others, that’s why most of us do it.

We don’t want to be THAT accountable for ourselves to whereas we have to take responsibility for our own thoughts and feelings. That’s a level of accountability and awareness that most people are not ready for. But if you are, now is your chance to come more fully into realizing the powerful being that you are.

Accept that you are the creator of your feelings

As I stated previously, it’s easy to blame other people and situations for how we feel. While you may have some validation for being angry that someone said something offensive to you. The fact of the matter is at the end of the day you have the power to transmute your feelings.

The bulk of our emotional state is based upon out perceptions and beliefs. Once we are able to shift our perception so will our feelings change. Using the example above, if someone says something offensive to you, you get angry because your perception says this person personally attacked you.

However, if you shifted your perception to say what this person said about me is not true and they’re ignorant than you may not feel so bad. You may actually feel sorry for them because you’ll also become aware that clearly, they have some inner trauma that hasn’t been dealt with.

Even further, you may realize that what the person said wasn’t offensive at all and that you’re just holding on to a core belief that made it so. The person could’ve said the same thing to someone else and they do not get offended by it.

Why?

Because in their mind it may have come across as a fact being stated and not offensive. Thus, further proving the point that it’s not so much of what is happening to us that makes us feel certain emotions but our thoughts on what is happening. Change your thoughts. Change your feelings. Change your life.

The choice is yours

As you can see, becoming responsible for your own feelings greatly heightens your self-awareness and puts you back in control of your mental and emotional state.

I will be honest and say that the path to self-realization is not for the faint of heart. It requires deep introspection, high self-awareness and accountability, honesty with Self, releasing, and surrendering. Though the exercises and information may sound tantalizing, it is the actual implementation of said things that is challenging.

Just as many give up on a physical workout because it can become too strenuous, so does many abandon this path because they realize it’s not all unicorns and rainbows. Overcoming your former self and embodying your Higher Self is brutal. This is what many refer to as going through a dark knight of the soul. Your old-world crumbles while a new reality is being birthed through you. But if you can make it out on the other side, you’ll see that it was all worth it.
